Learning Styles Theories
Learning Styles Theories have been around for decades. And that's just what they are...
theories.
But that doesn't mean we can't use the researchers' findings to our advantage to gain insights about how children obtain knowledge. I revisit the theories regularly to remind myself of the different specifics of the
kinesthetic,
visual,
and
auditory learner .
Taking a closer look at the way in which your child grasps new information can be very beneficial, but I do advice you to take a
cautionary approach when researching the learning styles theories.
And making a list of your
child's strengths
is highly beneficial for you and your child. Keep in mind there are several different approaches. A brief overview can be found at:
Learning Styles Counseling. ERIC Digest.
Think of the information like a looking glass where you can peer into the details regarding your child's way of perceiving the world - ideas you might not have thought of or considered before. In the
Sprectrum Needs
section of spectrum homeschool, there are further modifications and tips. I have also adapted 70 plus spelling ideas to the specific learning styles.
