How to Homeschool Route 66

Welcome to How to Homeschool Route 66!

Fasten your seat belt and put on your shades. We're taking a high speed ride in our shiny red convertible through the homeschool peaks and valleys on Route 66.

Don't worry. I've driven the route before. And the road is clear.

I've got a How to Homeschool road map right here in the glove box. So, journey on!

Will you hold this reminder list for me? Important Map - Open Right Away Just to help keep me on track. Thanks. You can grab a pencil and check off as we go.

Since we're on the road about to enter Route 66, we better check out the laws of your state and make sure were abiding. Let's pull off the road awhile and take a quick peek. It seems we're fine to travel on this road, as long as we maintain the speed limit.

Hey! Look at them folks down there off the fork in the road. Howdy! They're having a picnic and waving us in. Let's go join them.

Wow! Look at at that spread on the table. I bet they have all different methods for cooking. How's about we take some time and look at them methods. We can write some recipes down in my Grammie's cookbook or even on the checklist I gave you.

What did you think of the methods? Are you going to try any out for yourself?

Now that we're fed and on the road again, keep my checklist handy, please.

Sure is barren land, and not a soul in sight. I'm having a hard time following the map. I'm not so good at a bunch of lines and grids on paper. Maps are hard for me to follow. I like visual landmarks, like Starbucks.

Can you make head or tails of this road map? Maybe you have a different learning style than me and can help out. Here. Please pull over at the gas station and look over this map. Write some notes down for me on my checklist.

All fueled up and ready to move on. The sky is darkening and I tend to get pretty introspective at dusk. How about we do some inner reflection together?

That helped a lot. I think I'm more focused.

There are some mighty steep cliffs on our left. I'll keep in the center of the road and say a little prayer. How about you? Do you want to pray? I don't know about you. But I always feel a little better after praying.

Oh shoot. There goes my map, flew right out of my hands. Luckily, I see a blinking sign up ahead for a all-night curriculum center. Do you think they'll have maps? I think I'll step inside and take a break from all this driving and look around awhile. Come join me.

You're my lucky charm. Here's a new edition map and I grabbed us a coupon to save money on used books. Let's check our checklist and get on our way.

It feels good to be back on the road. These trees are certainly tall and pretty. I'm tired from doing all the driving. Maybe you outta take the wheel awhile. It's almost sunrise. I think you're ready.

Just keep driving that will keep us on schedule.(link coming soon) Keep the radio tuned on for upcoming fun activities on the road ahead. And just give me a nudge if you need support or more resources to help you on your journey. If you're wondering which road to travel, there are limitless possibilities; some folks, however, like to look at this map called the: Educational Standards

Learning the ropes all at once can be a bit overwhelming. But I know you can do it. Just know you don't have to see all the great sites of the world during one drive. Pace yourself and enjoy the journey. You're a great driver! A Natural!

We made it, without a scratch, and in record time. Good job! See, I told you the route wasn't so bad.
