The activities include fill in the blank and alphabetizing, and such. The site seems to still be under construction, but they might have something you can use.

Glencoe McGraw Hill has study guides to go with literature books/novels; I used the The Island of the Blue Dolphins study guide with my fourth grader and was very impressed with the lesson. The lesson plan was very detailed. The lessons included printable worksheets with higher-level thinking, every day activities, discussions, background and more. I would use the lesson again. I've used McGraw Hill products in the public school classrooms. They do a thorough job. Take some time to look at this curriculum for sure.

This is a wonderful home school resource from Scott Foresman Publishers. (off subject)I have used Scott Foresman's fourth grade curriculum, history workbook with my son. It is a very traditional approach. They do a good job of matching context and comprehension to the child's ability level. I found the history workbook or "social studies" text to be a bit simplified, but I used the pages as an independent review for my son. These free language arts worksheets are divided into grades 1-6 with more than 60 worksheets per grade level. I like the font and the simplicity of the pages. I use this resource weekly for grammar and language rules reinforcement.

This curriculum takes a lot of memory on your computer (9.97 MB). Mine took a few minutes to load. But this is an excellent source of free curriculum for young writers. There are three separate books with more than 80 pages of activities and worksheets. I plan on using some sections of the elementary workbook. You might want to take a look.
